Parallel Solutions for SA-SAMS
#1
Morning there

We heard through a source that SASAMS will be getting a face-lift? if that true?
We are using only SASAMS at the school at the moment, but we not 100% happy with the interface and are looking to get a third party software, which makes things difficult because you have to run two administrative software parrell.

Which would you suggest using which integrate the best with SASAMS?

As far as I am aware, development on the Modernised SA-SAMS is still under way - no E.T.A. on this yet, unfortunately.

It's an extremely tedious exercise to maintain two entirely different SAMS (School Administration and Management Systems).  If the third-party developer's solution writes data directly to your SA-SAMS database, it makes it much more manageable, but make sure they know what they are doing prior to committing to such a solution.

This being an SA-SAMS forum, we are not at liberty to suggest a "best" alternative to utilise in conjunction with SA-SAMS.  Your best bet would be to ask around from neigbouring schools, to do research of your own in terms of what your expectations are and to determine whether those cater for your specific needs.

You may ask what other schools are using on the forum, but we are not liable for the advice that you receive, nor any financial implications for your institution.  Make sure you know what you are getting yourselves into (contractually and financial-wise), before committing to a third-party solution.
