Posted by: Habibah_mahomed21 - 11-20-2019, 11:00 AM - Forum: Installation, Upgrade, & Configuration Support - Replies (3)

hi there

There are 3 learners in my school that i am unable to access information on. When i click on any of these learners names i get a "run time error 5 invalid call of argument" code and the system kicks me out. Is there a way to resolve this without having to completely remove these learners and re enter.

We offer a choice of Zulu or Afr for FAL from Grade 1.  Some of our parents decide in the 3rd term to change the subject to Afr from Zulu.  I then archive the Zulu and choose Afr as the FAL.  What happens to the learner's marks when calculating the final 4th term mark as there will be no marks for Afr for the 1st and 2nd terms.  Do we put -1 for the Afr. marks for the 1st and 2nd terms which will then not penalize the learner when the 4th term mark is calculated?  Thank you

Heart Error after installing 19.2.0
Posted by: zudafri - 10-24-2019, 01:07 PM - Forum: Installation, Upgrade, & Configuration Support - Replies (3)

We have a wired ethernet network at school with the SASAMS database on a computer running Windows 7("server") and individual class computers (clients) with the front-end installed.

After installing patch 19.2.0 and updating the database, the admin computer in the office of the admin clerk won't log in to SASAMS.  After entering the username and password the attached screenshot open up (SASAMS_Error1) and when you click on OK the next screen open (SASAMS_Error2) and clicking on OK produce the third screen (SASAMS_Error3) and the nothing happens.

Anybody any idea how to resolve?             Huh

I am a teacher at Marburg Secondary in KZN. I Started with SAMS right at the beginning and went through
all the patches and issues. I still think it is an excellent program, although sometimes it adds to my grey hairs. Smile

Question SA-SAMS Terms and Conditions
Posted by: SarelK - 10-16-2019, 04:52 PM - Forum: News and Announcements - Replies (1)

I have mixed feelings about the current installer of SA-SAMS. The new installer looks great and certainly does what it is supposed to do pretty well, especially considering doing away with the first-time installer and separate installer for Spread Grid 6.0.57.  Where it turns a bit sour for me, is with a single-sided inclusion of the Terms and Conditions.  Now please don't get me wrong, I am all for Developers protecting their intellectual property, but I am not going into much deliberation for the moment and will do so later on, after I have had time to work through it entirely, properly.

That being said, I am much interested in the opinions of our forumites on the content of the Terms and Conditions.  I post the T&Cs released in the 19.2.0 installer below.  Feel free to comment on your perceptions.

Question Learner Care and Support
Posted by: wesleyvwyk - 10-10-2019, 12:14 AM - Forum: 16. Security and Database Functions - Replies (3)

Hi there

There is an option under Learner and Parent Information i.e. Learner Care and Support which is low lighted with permission level 7.

When you log on as the Administrator (L8) you are able to access this option.

Can permissions higher then level 7 be assigned to a deputy or principal to allow them access to this menu or how should one configure the user account to gain access to this option.

What they are trying to achieve is to print consent letters without giving the administrator password to users.

Your help will be highly appreciated in this matter thanks.

I am having a problem with one specific learner in my database.  When I attempt to update or view his profile I receive a runtime '5' error.  Have attached screenshot.
If anyone can assist me in resolving this problem as I am unable to edit the learner nor update his NSC.

Any assistance will be appreciated.
