Question SA-SAMS Terms and Conditions
Posted by: SarelK - 10 hours ago - Forum: News and Announcements - Replies (1)

I have mixed feelings about the current installer of SA-SAMS. The new installer looks great and certainly does what it is supposed to do pretty well, especially considering doing away with the first-time installer and separate installer for Spread Grid 6.0.57.  Where it turns a bit sour for me, is with a single-sided inclusion of the Terms and Conditions.  Now please don't get me wrong, I am all for Developers protecting their intellectual property, but I am not going into much deliberation for the moment and will do so later on, after I have had time to work through it entirely, properly.

That being said, I am much interested in the opinions of our forumites on the content of the Terms and Conditions.  I post the T&Cs released in the 19.2.0 installer below.  Feel free to comment on your perceptions.

Question Learner Care and Support
Posted by: wesleyvwyk - 10-10-2019, 12:14 AM - Forum: 16. Security and Database Functions - Replies (2)

Hi there

There is an option under Learner and Parent Information i.e. Learner Care and Support which is low lighted with permission level 7.

When you log on as the Administrator (L8) you are able to access this option.

Can permissions higher then level 7 be assigned to a deputy or principal to allow them access to this menu or how should one configure the user account to gain access to this option.

What they are trying to achieve is to print consent letters without giving the administrator password to users.

Your help will be highly appreciated in this matter thanks.

I am having a problem with one specific learner in my database.  When I attempt to update or view his profile I receive a runtime '5' error.  Have attached screenshot.

If anyone can assist me in resolving this problem as I am unable to edit the learner nor update his NSC.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

  Password Issues
Posted by: Anashree - 09-10-2019, 07:30 PM - Forum: 16. Security and Database Functions - Replies (3)

Good.evening

I would.like to enquire about user passwords.

When we started using SASAMS a few years ago every educator was issued with their own username and password.

This worked well until this year when passwords required an uppercase and lowercase letter.

So we reset passwords to accommodate for this.

However in the 2nd and 3rd terms passwords were invalid once again.
Of we try to reset to the old password we get an error message " password is violating history..."

May I please ask for a solution to this problem.

Please note that it is necessary for educators to have their own username and password as they capture marks for the classes that they teach.

Regards
Anashree

Morning there

We heard through a source that SASAMS will be getting a face-lift? if that true?
We are using only SASAMS at the school at the moment, but we not 100% happy with the interface and are looking to get a third party software, which makes things difficult because you have to run two administrative software parrell.

Which would you suggest using which integrate the best with SASAMS?
